Thoughts on Growing a Startup

Startup ideas have little value on their own and execution of the ideas is 99% of success. Yet there are a number of question a person can ask themselves when examining a potential idea (not in any particular order).

• Is the market big or small?
• Are there enough resources to tackle the market in which the startup will be in?
• Is the idea potentially viral?
• Is it something people will benefit from linking to?
• Do you have domain expertice?
• Are you passionate about it?
• Will you be happy working on this for 5 years?
• Does it satisfy someone's real pain point?
• What is the competition like and what differentiates you?

My current focus is on Hiking community site with tools for hikers.
